Square Pattern Soap Sack
Size G crochet hook
Cotton yarn of your choice
Tapestry needle
For anyone who has made the double-thick pot holders, the bottom of the soap sack will look a lot like it.
Chain 14.
1: Sc in 2nd through 12th chain; 2 sc in 13th chain. Turning, to go back along
original chains, sc in each of the original chains, join at top of first
chain.
2: Chain one, sc in each sc of previous row. Join.
3: Repeat row 2.
4: Chain 3; *skip 1 sc of previous row, dc in next sc, chain 1*, repeat around, join at top of chain 3. (14
dc)
5: Chain 1, sc in top of each dc and in each sc space. Join in chain 1. (28
sc)
6-15: Repeat rows 4 and 5, five times. (OR four times for shorter bag.)
16-17: Repeat row 2.
Loop: Chain 30, or number of your choice, leaving 6-8 tail; cut. Using tapestry needle, weave tail of yarn into the sc of the last row. Knot. Trim.
Insert soap and attach tag. I used Ivory brand soap. Finished size is 4 x 6".
